What the Heck is it?

Beard oil is oil that you put in your beard. Simple as that. Seriously though, if you’re suffering from a bad beard day, it can help tame, hydrate and nourish the hair on your face. A little goes a long way. All you need is a few drops rubbed into your beard to help tame the wiry whiskers as well as moisturize the skin underneath your rough bristles.

Generally, beard oil, contains natural ingredients: Carrier oils and Essential oils.

Carrier Oils

Think of carrier oils as the base of the beard oil. It dilutes and carries the essential oil through your beard and onto your skin. However, don’t think that’s all it does. Carrier oils carry their own benefits and medicinal properties. The most popular, Jojoba Oil, for example, is a 100% organic moisterizer, natural skin cleanser and helps reduce dandruff.

Argan Oil, another popular option, hydrates, promotes hair growth and helps repair damaged hair. Regardless of the carrier oil used, it will bring a huge benefit to whichever beard oil brand you choose to go with.

Essential Oils

These are the scent. Essential oils help you smell good after lumber jacking through the forest all day long. As with carrier oils, essential oils

are also all natural. Luckily for us, Mother Nature birthed natural, masculine scents. Cedarwood essential oil being at the forefront of the pack. It offers great benefits: antiseptic, anti-fungal and antibacterial. So don’t think essential oils were made just for your wives and girlfriends. Or boyfriends, I’m not here to judge.

Should I be Using This Beard Oil Stuff?

If you enjoy looking like you just woke up at 1 p.m. and left your parent’s basement after a heavy furry party, then no.

In all seriousness, everyone with facial hair should be using it. It doesn’t matter if you’re sporting the 5 o’clock shadow or rocking the lovely locks you’ve grown over the span of 10 years, it will aid you in making your life that much more awesome. A few drops will help moisturize, soften and detangle your facial hair.  As well as give the skin underneath some much needed love. Split ends, the dreaded itchiness and beardruff will be a thing of the past with regular use. Here are 5 reasons why you need to get on the beard oil bandwagon immediately.

01. GET RID OF BEARDRUFF

Beardruff, or dandruff, is dry skin that peppers your hair when you itch. Instead of making it rain, you’re making it snow. Not cool. Everyone can see it and it’s almost impossible to hide. Beard oil will help moisturize the skin underneath to help alleviate and prevent this from happening. Moist skin equals no dry itchy flakes.

The skin on your face is very sensitive and needs special care to stay healthy. You can’t use products made for your head on your face and expect the same results beard oil can give you. Keep that face moisturized!

02. GET THAT BEARD UNDER CONTROL

Say good by to your mangy face pubes! That’s the first thing other people think. I heard it from family all the time, even my wife, before I started using beard oil to help keep the hairs under control. Sure, I would run a comb through it, but that doesn’t do much when your face can be used in place of steel wool.

A rogue hair tickling the nose leaves something to be desired.

Beard oil will help bring moisture to your beard and in turn it will make it much more manageable. The people at walmart and your significant other will thank you.

03. STOP SCRATCHING LIKE A BOSS

That new beard itch is no joke. Anyone who has grown a beard and not kept it will usually give you the same answer every time. They can’t stand the itch! The only thing you should be scratching is that off your list of things you won’t have to deal with. Get that supple baby butt skin underneath them whiskers with just a few drops of beard oil.

04. SMELL LIKE THE MAN YOU ARE

Women love nothing more than the smell of a man that’s been sawing wood all day long. Thankfully, you don’t have to do that. The scents are powered by essential oils, so you don’t have to worry about the harsh chemicals that are in most colognes. For that, your skin will thank you.

Also, with beard oil, unless you’re dumping an entire bottle onto your face, there’s no worry about sending others sprawling and choking trying to get away from your funky .99 cent thrift store aerosol spray. And for that, everyone will thank you.

05. BOOST YOUR SELF-ESTEEM

Sometimes, all you need to put yourself out there is a boost in your confidence and self-esteem. They say when you look good, you feel good and I believe that statement is true as the sky is blue.

Maybe you want that promotion or to attract the attention of a woman. Low self-esteem is going to keep you from getting what you want. I’m not saying beard oil is the magic key by any means, but it is definitely going to help you think more highly of yourself. You’re only worth what you think you’re worth and I guarantee you a good beard grooming routine will get you that much closer to your goals.

Final Thoughts

The benefits of beard oil outweigh the costs. Generally a $20-30 bottle of beard oil will last you 3 months.

I highly recommend it’s use. You’ll never know if its for you if you don’t try. Good luck and happy bearding!
